January's Newsletter 2012
Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,
It is so hard to believe the we are already a month in to 2012.
Im not sure how the weather is in your area, but we are experiencing some
Spring-like, borderline Summer temperatures here in Mississippi. As I type this newsletter
it is 72 degrees outside with tomorrows high expected to reach 74. And to think, one
year ago, we had already experienced two snowfalls with one more to come. You just never
know in Mississippi.
January has been slow for us, as Januarys typically are. On the
28th, Christian and Caleb played the piano for our State-wide Hymn Festival held at
Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada, MS. They both did a great job, each receiving a
Superior rating for the songs they played.
Aside from filling in at our church while we were home, we only had two
ministry engagements. The first, being a fill-in date, was at First Baptist Church in
Mathiston, MS on January 1. Their music minister, Bro. Harold Smith, needed me to fill in
during his absence.
On January 29, we led worship for the morning services at Pleasant Hill
Baptist Church in Quitman, MS, and then presented a Concert that evening there. Their
music minister, Bro. Keith Davis, invited us to be a part of their fifth Sunday night
sing. We had a great time getting to know the folks there, such a sweet fellowship. Their
interim pastor is Bro. Wilbur Hall.
The following day we were at the State Evangelism Conference in
Brandon, MS at Brandon Baptist Church. My niece, Cara Hogg, watched our kids for the day
while Becky and I attended the conference. It was a nice break for me and Becky to be able
to enjoy some great preaching from Kevin Hamm, Sammy Gilbreath, Bill Stafford, Junior
Hill, Jim Futral and Mickey Dalrymple, and the music ministry of Marc Ivey. With a slow
schedule for 2012, the Lord used their messages to encourage our hearts. God is still in
control and we will continue to trust Him to fill our calendar.
Thank you for your continued support and prayers for One Way
Ministries.
In His Service,

Steve & Becky Carver
